Most of the manufacturing world will automate production for a design only after it has reached high volume and high profits. Once a design has proved itself, manufacturers will then get creative and reduce costs by making setups easier on a case-by-case basis.

CogChamp does the opposite.

CogChamp is all about configurable automation. We make each part as if we're making a million of them - that's how we keep our costs so low. Our automation was already in place before you even clicked the order button. Our machines are stocked with carefully selected tools to give you the best possible range of features - all without having to manually change setups.

As soon as your part is approved and ordered, it gets scheduled in our machine queue to be started the next moment a machine is available. This could be instant, it could be overnight, it could even be during a holiday. Your parts are then inspected and shipped. No delay, no waiting for an operator, just automation.

CogChamp was started in San Diego in 2025. Starting off as a team of robot enthusiasts, we commonly ran into issues in finding the right gear for an elbow joint or an angle encoder. More often than not, we were forced to make our own gears in our garage on a 4-axis milling machine.

That's when it hit us - we could make low-cost custom gears and automate the whole thing with robots! Then we realized that the whole system could be configured to make not just gears, but also custom shafts, bushings, threads, couplings, you name it! We built a 5-axis mill-turn center specifically designed to cut a revolved profile, cut gear teeth into it, add some holes and threads, and finish the part all in one setup.
